RVC: A great exampleRSA would like to congratulate a very special member of our school: Ron Van Clief. Many of you may know him as the legendary film actor, The Black Dragon or as the fighter who, at the age of 51, fought Royce Gracie in UFC 4. Ron is also a Grandmaster in Goju-Ryu with students all around the World and was a student of Masters: Peter Urban, Frank Ruiz, and Moses Powell, as well as WingTsun founder Leung Ting. He has rubbed shoulders with Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris and many other major martial art icons.
Ron is turning 80 years old tomorrow (January 25th), competes in tournaments regularly, and says he will keep training and get his Relson Gracie Black Belt one day. Ron Van Clief, we are honored and inspired by your life and example.

Sometimes you just luck out having one of the best Japanese restaurants in Hawaii literally 30 steps from your dojo. Aburiya Ibushi has a wide array of dishes many of which are cooked on a real charcoal grill. Support my brothers at the best Japanese restaurant in town. Whether visiting or a resident, it’s a definite “must go.”
If Koa Pancake House wasn’t so popular I’d say Koa Pancake House is a hidden gem, so just “Amazing-Great-Tasty-Gem” will suffice. This is one of my favorite places to take my family and friends to get breakfast. Beside having an extensive menu reflecting Hawaiian tastebuds, the prices are still reasonable for the highest quality meals. Koa pancake didn’t know I posted this, I just wanted to share. - Ronn
