GYE NITTA

​Gye Nitta, born in Hawaii, is a longtime Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, the first to earn this rank under Ronn Shiraki. Training with the Relson team since 2000, he honed his skills through daily, often twice-daily, sessions and regular competitions, emphasizing Jiu-Jitsu’s real-world self-defense applications. A senior pilot for Hawaiian Airlines, Gye founded New Hope Jiu-Jitsu, a Christian fellowship integrating Jiu-Jitsu with spiritual growth, and Nitta Fishing Innovations. Living in Las Vegas with his wife, Kanoe, and children, Rell and Kielen—a promising Jiu-Jitsu competitor—he enjoys surfing, fishing, and shooting, embodying discipline and dedication to Jiu-Jitsu and his amazing family.
