RONN SHIRAKI

Relson Gracie
Third Degree Black Belt

"I believe that technique, timing, and creativity are all very important but to me loyalty, humility, and compassion is everything." - Ronn Shiraki

Nick-named "Jedi" by some of his students and peers and best known for his unique approach to Jiu-Jitsu - philosophically and stylistically - Ronn is among the few in the U.S. who has personally taken thousands of group and private instructionals directly from Grandmaster Red Belt Relson Gracie. Since 1996, Ronn has consistently bled and sweat on the mats with some of the world's top Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belts winning on all levels of competition locally and on the mainland US - including the State Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii, Arnold Schwarzenegger-Gracie World Submission Championship in Columbus, OH and many others. Considered to be one of Relson's most technical and dynamic instructors, Ronn's teaching and competing experience, proficiency, and genuine approach has allowed him to draw students from all backgrounds and occupations including members of the HPD, FBI, DEA, and every branch of the US Military. Ronn loves teaching those who embrace the art of Jiu-Jitsu and finds joy in connecting with his loyal students and watching them evolve. Ronn also holds a Bachelor's of Science in Human Development from Brigham Young University in Utah and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in Hawaii. It was there that he completed his master's thesis titled Elite Athletes Experiencing Flow: From Construct Development to Outcomes and Challenges (a comprehensive study on peak performance and professional athletes).
